Paul Cooney has more than 35 years experience in the debt collection and receivables management industry.

Paul's career includes 17 years with College Mercantile, the last 5 as the Group General Manager, prior to the company's sale in 1986.

Moving to WJ Lawrence & Co. in 1987, Paul joined the company's founder as Managing Director in this specialist commercial agency.

Under Paul's direction the company became Australia's largest collection agency, under the name Receivables Management (Vic) Pty Ltd.

He established Australian Receivables Limited in 2003 and secured NCO Group Inc the world's largest debt recovery business as a partner in 2006.

Paul was instrumental in establishing Forbes Dowling Lawyers Pty Ltd as an incorporated legal practice in 2005 with the focus being on providing a specialist litigation and insolvency legal service for clients in the Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane markets.

Qualifications

Fellow of the Institute of Credit Management (FICM).

Inaugural National President of the Australian Collectors Association.Director for Australia, New Zealand and Oceania of ACA International.
